Free Betting Tips: Super Bowl 44 Betting

February 7th, 2010

Super Bowl 44 Indianapolis Colts v New Orleans Saints

The battle of the big number quarterbacks is here at last. When the play-offs arrived this really was the Super Bowl I was wishing for. The Brees v Manning story is a great one, but there is more to this game than that when betting.

Those that follow my NFL betting will know that I like to trade, but I generally only make one trade per game and that is to back before the start and lay off In play. This is a nice strategy for two reasons, one it is easy to follow and two, if you enjoy watching the game then you don’t spend your whole time looking at your monitor.

As I said in the video blog I placed my back bet on the New Orleans Saints at odds of 2.9 (these odds have now come in a bit). I am confident that these odds will come down somewhat during play, so will be looking to lay them off at about 1.5. I hope that this happens quickly so that I can concentrate on the beer and snacks rather than the betting exchange.

This is a strategy that has served me well in the NFL, especially in the Super Bowl. Last year the Cardinals came in quite a bit and the year before I did very well on the NY Giants (who were expected to lose and the odds showed it!).

Sadly my team – the Dolphins didn’t make it, but hey at least the Super Bowl gets played in Miami. Maybe next year for the Dolphins? What do you mean no?

Will you be watching? Which way will you be betting or trading?
