Tonight as yesterday I think things will follow the odds. I will be looking at Atlanta as having the most value out of all the games. I suspect they will drift to 1.52 on betfair, so I would be looking to take this price.

Again the odds are tight in the Play-off markets and I am not expecting any upsets tonight. There is not much value in the betting tonight. However, if Portland Trailblazers odds drift out to the 1.5 mark then I would be tempted to make a bet.

NBA Play-offs Round One Betting

The odds are not looking too generous at the moment in the play-off games.

I am only really tempted by two outsiders picked by the system offering quite good value odds. You will have to decide for yourself how you see these games but I am going with Dallas and Houston wins. Dallas Mavericks are available at 2.68 here, and Houston Rockets are available at 2.88.

NBA Betting Selections 8th April 2009

Detroit @ New York
The system has picked New York here with 51% chance of taking the game. Neither team goes into this game looking invincible, but the home advantage should be enough of a boost for New York. Detroit will be working hard on starting a winning run after breaking their three game losing streak on Sunday, with a narrow win over Charlotte.

Utah @ Dallas
Dallas will be looking for a prefect run through their next few games to try and avoid the Lakers in the postseason. However, I think they will struggle tonight against Utah. I am going against the form and the ‘other’ systems here and backing the Jazz. If you think it is a risk then why not try trading on the game, I can see the odds narrowing as the game draws closer.

Toronto @ Indiana
I can’t resist a bet on the Raptors here. They do go in slight underdogs, but they face an Indiana who will find it hard to keep their heads up after only just missing out on the postseason race. Toronto’s odds are a real bargain at the moment which again mean a good trading opportunity if you don’t fancy the straight bet.

Two selections for tonight…

Atlanta @ Toronto
It looks as though the Raptors have a great chance at home tonight. Atlanta visits with a three game losing streak and though they will be looking to turn that around this might not be the right game for them to do it. Toronto have great early odds with 2.4 available. I can see this drifting in the run up to the game, so there might be bargains to be had.

New Orleans @ Miami
While the early odds are not good enough to place a bet on New Orleans, I do think that they will drift out, and maybe by a good amount, as the game gets closer. If we see odds of 2.7 for the Hornets then I think it will make a good trading opportunity, and maybe a good value bet.

A quick couple of selections for tonight…

Miami @ Charlotte
Miami will be looking to put a stop to their bad streak and this could just be the game to do it. There are some nice early value odds at 2.56 (at time of writing).

San Antonio @ Indiana
The Spurs have a good away record and the system has identified them as having a very good chance at Indiana tonight. It should be a close one though with the Pacers on such good form.
